Main Characters

There are two main characters that make up the bulk of the Nexus stories. Alastair and the mysterious Wicker. There's more to both of them than meets the eye, of course, and throughout the stories, many things come out about both of them that may surprise, and sometimes delight, you.

Alastair MacMillan

Alastair is introduced as a gunslinging EDS agent who champions the weak and defends people that need it, Realmer or not. He's known for his distinctive look: Always wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a dark tan trenchcoat over his climisuit. He then rescues Wicker from a mob intent on hanging him, and there's something between them he cannot name. A man uninterested in changing the world, the thing is, he has the knowledge to do so. The son of Finley MacMillan, he is much more intelligent than he shows others. Cunning and able to strategize effectively, he hides what genius he has in order to not be targeted in attempts to fix the world he believes deserves what has come to it. Meeting Wicker, though, might just change it all.

Wicker

Wicker is discovered in the city of Bennu near Phoenix. Alastair rescues him from the gallows as the people attempt to execute him for the death of his caretaker who died of natural causes. Wicker was raised unknown to anyone except his "Mama" and has never interacted with the world. He's a mystery, though, because he has an appearance that doesn't match any Realmer that Alastair's ever seen or even heard of.
